The Nation Newspaper Ogundoyin pledges state legislatures' support to constitutional amendments to promote true federalism
has addressed the opening session of a 3day retreat on Constitutional Review with a pledge that State Assemblies will support all amendments that will ensure entrenchment of true federalism in the country.
Ogundoyin noted that some fundamental national issues such as State police, resource control and revenue allocation, decentralisation or devolution of powers to states among others must be considered for review“I would like to say that we must at this time consider critical national issues in the ongoing constitutional review exercise.
He said the decision of the leadership of the National Assembly to kickstart the constitution review process at the first legislative session would no doubt address the delay in the passage of the amended constitution.
