Ogun State Police Command paraded officers, cultists, armed robbery and murder suspects arrested for various criminal offences in January 2024. The command encountered three major security issues in 2023, including the murder of a government official and cases of armed robbery and sexual assault. The investigation is ongoing.
Ogun State Police Command , yesterday, paraded officers, cultists, armed robbery and murder suspects arrested for various criminal offences in January 2024. The command said it encountered three major security issues in 2023, which included the gruesome murder of Taiwo Oyekanmi, who was the Director of Finance and Administration, Bureau of Political Affairs at the Governor’s Office. It said investigation on the matter is at an advanced stage.
Others were armed robbery and sexual assault of students of Tai Solarin University of Education (of which the suspects have been arrested) and cult related murder in Sagamu. Spokesperson for the command, SP Omolola Odutola, who paraded the suspects on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, lamented the increase in cases of gender-based violence in 2023
