Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has announced his intention to present the 2025 Appropriation Bill to the State lawmakers on November 29, 2024, as per the 1999 Nigerian Constitution. The Assembly also resolved to develop a comprehensive drug abuse control strategy to address rising drug issues.
The Ogun State House of Assembly has acknowledged a letter from the State Governor, Dapo Abiodun , indicating his intention to present the Year 2025 Appropriation Bill before the State lawmakers on Friday, November 29, at 10:00 AM. The Speaker, Oludaisi Elemide, stated this during the plenary at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, while reading the Governor's letter.
The Governor's letter expressed appreciation for the legislative support provided by the House, which has been crucial to the state's development. In accordance with the provisions of Section 121 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Governor informed the House of his intention to present the 2025 budget proposal on the specified date. Additionally, the Assembly passed a resolution urging the State Government to urgently develop a comprehensive and inter-ministerial drug abuse control strategy to tackle the rising issue of drug abuse, illicit drug trafficking, and addiction among youth and adults in the state.
