The government said the Iberekodo market in Abeokuta was shut for operating below public hygiene standards.
According to Oresanya, the market’s dirty environment would affect the safety of foodstuffs and other commodities sold there. “The state government will not fold its hands and watch a few traders compromise the health of millions of our people by trading in a dirty environment,” he stated.
