A Federal Court High Court sitting in Abeokuta on Thursday struck out a case challenging the candidacy of Olumide Aderinokun as the People Democratic
DAILY POST learnt that an aspirant, Dada Kolawole Oduntan, had approached the court over the primary election that produced Aderinokun as the candidate of the PDP in Ogun Central for the 2023 election.
Oduntan had told the court that the primary held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library on May 23 did not follow due process, praying the court to declare him the winner. In his judgement, Justice O. O. Oguntoyinbo, held that the case filed against Aderinokun lacked jurisdiction because court processes were not followed.Reacting, Aderinokun said “the judgement is a testimony that my ambition is all about the people’s mandate and it cannot be tampered with by just any individual.
Aderinokun told DAILY POST that he had always believed in the power of a united people, saying “I’m grateful to God that I’m still in this marathon with my people from Ifo, Abeokuta North, Abeokuta South, Odeda, Ewekoro and Obafemi-Owode behind me.”This is indeed good news that separates us from distractors,” he stated.
