The Ogun State House of Assembly has passed a resolution calling on the state government to commence repair works on the Kemta-Olokuta-Idi-Aba road. The resolution was moved by Adeyanju Adegoke and seconded by Olakunle Sobukanla at plenary on Tuesday, presided by the Speaker, Oludaisi Elemide.
DAILY POST had reported that the governor said reconstruction of the train station road cannot begin unless the Federal Government grants approval. However, Adeyanju, opening debate on the resolution, spoke on the deteriorating condition of the road, which he said had been worsened by flooding, making it largely impassable for vehicles. According to him, only commercial motorcyclists are managing to navigate the stretch of the road.
Contributing to the motion, other lawmakers including Damilola Soneye, Odunuga Kaka, Oyedele Adebisi, Adeniran Ademola and Lukmon Atobatele, asked the state government to address the deplorable condition of the road, positing that such intervention would revitalize economic activities, enhance safety and improve the overall quality of lives of the residents in the area and its adjoining communities.
