Ogun State APC has vowed that it would review all “last-minute” appointments and contracts awarded by Governor Ibikunle Amosun’s administration. Nigeria OgunState Amosun
The All Progressives Congress , Ogun State chapter, yesterday hinted that it would review all “last-minute” appointments and contracts awarded by Governor Ibikunle Amosun’s administration.
A statement issued by the publicity secretary of the caretaker committee, Tunde Oladunjoye, in Abeokuta alerted the general public that “all appointments, installation of traditional rulers, contracts, commitments and obligations entered into during the transition period after the elections will be reviewed and may not be binding on the new administration.”
The party explained that though Governor Amosun and the governor-elect, Dapo Abiodun, had set up a joint transition committee, such actions must not be taken without the “consideration” of the in-coming government. Part of the statement read: “While we accept that the term of this government expires on May 29, 2019, it is morally unacceptable that a governor with less than one month to the expiration of his term in office will make mass appointments and promotions, thereby committing the incoming administration to unsustainable financial commitments and obligations.”
The party, some weeks ago, had issued a statement cautioning financial institutions against granting loans and other financial instruments to the out-going government.
