OC Transpo says it's investigating after a rail operator reported seeing sparks coming from the system that powers Ottawa's LRT line Friday night.Posted: Feb 10, 2024 9:33 AM EST | Last Updated: 4 hours ago
In a memo to city council, general manager Renée Amilcar said the operator noticed around 11:30 p.m. that sparks were coming from a pole near Cyrville station that supported the Confederation Line's overhead wires. Amilcar's memo said the Confederation Line would run on a single track between St-Laurent and Blair stations on Saturday.
That would give Rideau Transit Maintenance more time to "complete the necessary work to allow service to launch on time on Sunday morning," Amilcar wrote.
