Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has promised to unlock the agriculture potential of Jigawa State for development of Nigeria.

During a discussion with stakeholders before commencement of his presidential rally, yesterday, in Dutse, the former governor of Anambra State told the people that he and his vice, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, would revolutionise the North West state, exploiting its arable land for production and onward export if elected to lead the country next month.

He reiterated his pledge to securing Nigeria and rebranding it from consumption to production nation, by engaging the youths in productive activities.At the palace of the Emir of Dutse, Dr. Muhammad Nuhu Sanusi, the LP standard-bearer, explained that he came with his vice to honour him and seek his blessing in their quest to seek the people’s mandate to build a new Nigeria, where justice and equity prevail.

He told the monarch that they are in the race because they have what it takes to build a new nation that addresses pervasive poverty in the land. Obi emphasised that the country has no business having over 133 million Nigerians living in multi-dimensional poverty in the midst of abundant human and natural resources.He reiterated that this election should be driven by the people’s desire to enthrone the most competent person with capacity and antecedents.
