Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has launched a world-class women's centre in Benin City, named after former Senator Daisy Danjuma, to support vulnerable persons in society.

Deputy Governor, Edo state, Philip Shaibu , Governor Edo state, Godwin Obaseki and former senator, representing Edo South, Senator Daisy Danjuma during the commissioning.

The governor described Danjuma as a woman of great accomplishments who has distinguished herself in different spheres of life, including business and politics, advancing causes for the growth and development of society and mankind. “Fifty per cent of my cabinet are women. That is what I have control over and I assure you today that we will do everything as a government to make this centre the model for female protection in Nigeria.
