Following the industrial action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa chapter, there was no the academic activities on the campus on Monday.The Registrar of the university, Mr Ganiyu Saliu, said the management of the school would meet the leadership of ASUU to resolve the matter. He also disclosed that as part of the efforts to resolve the issue, the school had paid a one month salary to the striking lecturers.
He said, “ We are making efforts to resolve the matter, the management would meet the leadership of the union this evening on the union . “We are appealing to them to resume, we have paid one month salary today , they requested for two months, we are looking for ways to pay the second one before the week runs out . We are seriously looking for the money. We are appealing to the lecturers to consider the students who want to write exams.”
