Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has given an ultimatum to the Universal Basic Education Board, UBEB, to revamp all moribund primary education in
Nwifuru, who decried the bad state of primary education in the state, charged the newly-inaugurated board of the commission to put forth frantic efforts to bring it back to life.
The governor made this known while addressing cabinet members and stakeholders of the state on Monday. The commission, UBEB, is led by the former House of Representatives member, Mrs. Patience Ogodo, who represented Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency, as the chairman, while Mr. Livinus Ezeuwa is the secretary.
Nwifuru noted further that his administration has given more than 35 per cent affirmative on appointment of women into political positions, and called on the members of the board to ensure that the people’s charter of needs is implemented in the commission.“Our job is to work with the people and Ebonyians don’t need much.
“The state government has all it takes to make everybody happy. And so, the government has to do all that is needed to make the people happy without wasting time,” he stated.
