NPHET to meet today as further counties at risk of level 3 lockdown restrictions

The National Public Health Emergency Team is set to meet this evening to decide whether or not to recommend further restrictions as coronavirus cases continue to rise.

But health chiefs have expressed concerns about a number of other counties which continue to see alarming trends.However health chiefs have been monitoring the situation in Galway, Cork, Roscommon and Monaghan with the four counties at risk of moving to harsher restrictions to stop the spread of the virus.

Speaking yesterday Acting Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronan Glynn said next three or four days are 'critical' to Dublin's fight against the virus.
