Kwara United secured a crucial 2-0 victory over Kano Pillars in a thrilling Nigeria Premier Football League Matchday 28 encounter at the Rashidi Yekini Main Bowl, George Innih Stadium, on Sunday.
The Harmony Boys dominated from the start, with Akanni Akeem and Shola AbdulRaheem controlling the midfield, while Ibrahim Yahaya and Segun Adekunle marshaled the defense to keep the visitors at bay.
Despite Kano Pillars’ efforts, led by Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa, Kwara United maintained their grip on the game. Kano Pillars had a few late chances, but stellar performances from Jimoh Gbadamosi and Nurudeen Badmus ensured the visitors remained goalless.“The way my players approached this game reflects our position on the log. “The fans’ support is overwhelming,” said an elated AbdulRazaq, who recently renamed the stadium after late Super Eagles legend Rashidi Yekini.
