The 2022/23 NPFL season is scheduled to begin on an abridged format, after an initial disagreement between the Interim Management Committee of the NPFL and the club owners. Barring any last minute kick by any of the parties, everything points to an eventual start of the season next Sunday, and clubs like Lobi Stars of Makurdi are quick to get off the Yuletide mood with their first training sessions of the year on Monday afternoon.
