‘No total lockdown of Kwara yet’
The state added that the partial lockdown and closure of all entry points to the state remain close.
It hailed more donations made to the state government’s campaign to prevent the spread of Coronavirus by various individuals and firms. “The government commends the management of KAM Holding for the donation of N20m to the government; Hajia Bola Shagaya for donating 100 bags of 50kg rice, 500 pieces of 5kg semovita and 200 small cartons of detergents and Mt. Olive Nigeria Limited for giving us 1,500 cartons of tomato paste and 1000 bags of 5kg garri ,” according to a statement by Rafiu Ajakaye, chief press secretary to the Governor and spokesman of the Kwara State Technical Committee on COVID-19.
“Similarly, the government thanks Zambazi Restaurant Café and Lounge for the gift of N100,000 while urging others to contribute to the effort.“We also want to clarify that the government has not declared total lockdown as is being speculated in some quarters. The public, as has been the practice of the administration and the committee, will be duly notified of any further decisions. For now, the partial lockdown remains in force.
The committee said distribution of government’s palliatives began in Ilorin East Local Government yesterday with community representatives of the 12 wards in the council directly taking custody of the food stuffs.This comes a day after the seamless distribution of the palliatives across the 17 wards in Asa local government.
