Some people in Isaoye Ekiti in the Moba Local Government Area of Ekiti State are bent on removing the traditional ruler of the community, Obasaoye of Isaoye Ekiti, Oba Gabriel Olajide, over his refusal to partake in rituals because of his Christian faith.
Secondly, we accused him of a sacrilegious offence of beating his mother. Also, he went to Osun Ekiti with police officers to arrest one of the indigenes, which led to an attack. Why should a traditional ruler within the same local government arrest a person there without informing the Owa of Osun? We have some rites we perform whenever somebody dies; he would accept the money involved, but not perform the traditional rites.
