The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has revealed that it is negotiating purchase of Premium Motor Spirit with Dangote Refinery ahead of Sunday, September 15, 2024. The Spokesperson of NNPCL , Olufemi Soneye disclosed this to DAILY POST in an interview on Thursday. Soneye was responding to a statement by the Vice President of Dangote Industries Limited, Devakumar Edwin that local marketers are boycotting Dangote Refinery 's petrol despite offering lower prices.

He stressed that NNPCL is currently negotiating with Dangote Refinery over petrol pricing. According to him, the NNPCL was awaiting the Sunday, September 15 date announced by Dangote Refinery to commence PMS supply. 'I don't believe local marketers will boycott PMS with lower prices; that seems unlikely. 'We are currently negotiating prices with the Dangote Refinery. We were informed that it would be available by September 15, so we are waiting for that', he told DAILY POST.
