The Nation Newspaper NIS calls for improved security over killing of survey technician in Ibadan

has condemned the murder of a survey technician by suspected ritualists in the Moniya area of Ibadan at the weekend, describing it as ‘barbaric.’

The statement, which was signed by the state chairman Surv. Lamidi Abiodun, also called for diligent prosecution of the suspects. It read in part: “Though the deceased was not a Registered Surveyor, and definitely not an NIS member, we are touched by his most gruesome murder, particularly with his beheading by the heartless criminals who are suspected to have killed him for ritual. We pray to God to give the family the fortitude to bear this huge loss.

“The NIS in Oyo State commends the Oyo State Police Command for apprehending his suspected killers. We expect that the command will build on this success by diligently prosecuting the suspects.
