The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed that nine people died and 21 others were injured in a road crash in Dankama, Kaita Local Government Area of Katsina State. The incident occurred when a trailer carrying cows and humans on top separated from the main body and fell on a pavement. The trailer driver was trying to avoid crushing a woman who fell from an overloaded Golf car carrying beans.
In an attempt to avoid the collision, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing the trailer to separate. Nine people lost their lives, while 21 others sustained injuries. The injured passengers were taken to the Primary Healthcare Center, Kaita, for medical attention. Some victims were referred to Katsina General Hospital and the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina, due to the severity of their injuries. The Sector Commander, Aliyu Ma’aji, warned drivers against carrying animals with passengers due to the dangers associated with this practice. He also urged passengers to speak up against overloading and dangerous driving to reduce road accidents
