Troops of the Nigerien Armed Forces, in their fight against cross-border banditry, have arrested a notorious Nigerian bandit kingpin known as Kachallah Mai Daji, near the border town of Illela, Niger.
This was revealed on Monday in a tweet by security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama.
“He has killed dozens of people, burnt down villages, kidnapped hundreds and imposed levies on villages for almost 10 years,” Makama said in his tweet. The report added: “He was apprehended by Nigerien forces when he tried to rustle livestock through the country border.” It further stated that, in recent weeks, significant revelations brought to light the internal conflicts and growing disenchantment within Boko Haram, as evidenced by the surrender of six of its chiefs to the Multinational Joint Task Force in the Lake Chad Basin.Before flagging, please keep in mind that Disqus does not moderate communities.
