The spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, has admitted that Nigerians do not hate institutions in the country
and that they only want the best and results from them.
Hundeyin said this after receiving calls from Nigerians who praised the Lagos State Police Command for neutralising nine kidnappers on Thursday, July 4, 2024. The police had laid an ambush for the kidnappers, who were caught unawares, and during a gun battle bowed to the superior firepower of the police. Nine of them were neutralised while two escaped with gunshot injuries.
The police recovered four AK-47 rifles, four locally-made semi automatic pistols, nine AK-47 magazines, three walkie-talkies, one POS machine, and a loudspeaker from the gang.Acknowledging calls and expressions, Hundeyin said: “Nigerians do not hate their institutions. They just want the best from them.
“This is very motivating, highly appreciated, and not taken for granted. We at the Lagos State Police Command promise to continue to do our best for the safety and security of all residents and visitors to Lagos State.”
