As the lockdown of sporting facilities across the country continues, Nigerians have lamented the deplorable state of major stadiums across the country.

The PUNCH had reported on Wednesday that the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja was in a bad state one year after it was named after the presumed winner of the 1993 presidential election, Moshood Abiola.

“Too bad. Our maintenance culture in Nigeria is really bad. Once the construction is done… nothing is done to put it in shape,” Oluwafemi Buga also said. The National Stadium, Lagos and the Liberty Stadium were part of the stadia that hosted the World Youth Championship in 1999. “Yet they pumped money in the new Asaba Stadium, which may likely go the way of Warri,” Nnadozie Nicholas also said.
