At least two people reportedly lost their lives during a cult clash in Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State, the Nigeria Police Force, Ogun State command has confirmed. The incident happened on Wednesday night and spread to the early morning of Thursday in Agbowa and other areas in Sagamu.

According to a community source who spoke with Punch, gunshots rented the air during a clash between two rival cult groups, forcing residents to flee for safety. The State Police Public Relations Officer SP, Abimbola Oyeyemi also confirmed the incident, adding that a policeman was shot by the cultist and had been rushed to hospital where he was responding to treatment.
