While fellow Muslims were devoted in prayers during the month of Ramadan, a 70-year old man, Usman Ibrahim, has been arrested by the police for defiling two kids during the holy month in Adamawa State. The sisters (names withheld) who have survived the incest, are four and seven years old respectively. The incident reportedly happened on April 4, 2023, in the Ajiya neighborhood in Yola, the state capital, according to a police report.

Confirming Ibrahim's arrest, spokesperson of the police in the state, SP Suleiman Nguroje said,"the incident was reported to the Divisional Police Headquarters, Jimeta by the father of the victims having observed unusual pains from the kids while urinating. "The Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola who expressed worry over the unfortunate incident, directed the officer in charge of Family Support Unit of the State CID to take over investigation and ensure diligent prosecution.
