Nigerian newspapers: 10 things you need to know this Thursday morning
1. The Managing Director of Guaranty Trust Bank , Segun Agbaje, its Chairman, Mrs Osaretin Demuren and the Company Secretary, Erhi Obebeduo, are expected to physically appear before the Federal High Court Awka, to show cause why they should not be committed for contempt and sent to prison.
3. The legal team of Senator Godswill Akpabio on Wednesday accused the Independent National Electoral Commission Akwa Ibom State of frustrating the ongoing inspection of election materials used for the conduct of election into Ikot-Ekpene senatorial district. Speaking with newsmen in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Patrick Umoh, who led the Legal team to INEC office at resumption of inspection on Tuesday, accused the electoral umpire of unnecessarily delaying the process.
5. At least, five persons have been killed by ravaging cultists in two communities in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State. Report claims that four of the five persons killed were beheaded. It was gathered that one Chioma Okogbule was reportedly killed inside the bedroom at Mgbuitanwo community, while four other people were killed and beheaded within Rumuji community by the suspected cultists.
7. The Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba-Akoko, AAUA, Ondo State was Wednesday shut down following a protest that greeted the decision of the school management to bar students from writing its continuous assessment as a result of school fees issue. Infuriated by the management’s decision, the students mobilized in their numbers and disrupted the test.
