Nigerian newspapers: 10 things you need to know this Saturday morning
1. Former People’s Democratic Party , Deputy National chairman, Senator Babayo Garba Gamawa is dead. Garba reportedly died after a brief illness in Bauchi on Friday. His Spokesperson, Isah Garba Gadau while confirming his death Friday night said he complained of a slight stomach ache and was taken to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital where he was admitted.
3. The Deputy national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Elder Yemi Akinwonmi has declared that Nigeria has been under military dictatorship since President Muhammadu Buhari assumed power in 2015. Akinwonmi said this when he received a delegation of European Union, EU, at the PDP Presidential Campaign Headquarters, Abuja on Friday.
5. The management of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, on Friday released call-up letters for prospective corps members of Batch “B” stream 1 2019. The information was made known in a statement on NYSC official Instagram page. In the release, prospective corps members have been instructed to start printing their various call-up letters as orientation starts on the 18th of June.
7. The Kogi State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has berated the alleged action of a social-cultural group ‘Igala Elders’ for their alleged decision to disqualify some governorship aspirants from contesting the November election in the state.
