1. The Nigeria Medical Association on Friday expressed concern about Nigeria’s acceptance of the coronavirus cure developed in Madagascar. The herbal remedy, called ‘COVID Organics,’ is expected in Nigeria anytime soon. But NMA President, Dr Francis Faduyile, in a statement on Friday, warned that importation of the medication could decelerate Nigeria’s search of remedial interventions for the disease.

3. The Senior Staff Association of Electricity and Allied Companies has threatened to embark on a fresh strike. The General Secretary, Abubakar Dubagari, issued the threat in a statement on Friday. This followed the letter sacking its President, Chris Okonkwo. The union vowed to mobilize all legal and industrial machineries at their disposal to resume pending industrial action.

5. The Nigeria Immigration Service has suspended the redeployment of its personnel who participated in the “Bop Daddy Challenge.” The Service had earlier queried and deployed the staff over their participation. But a new statement on the Service’s official Twitter page on Friday said the matter was still under investigation, hence the Comptroller General had ordered that the earlier posting be put on hold.

7. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Friday, handed over a property forfeited by former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Allison-Madueke to the Lagos State Government. The mansion is to be used as an Isolation Centre for COVID-19 patients. The property consisting six flats of three bedrooms and a boys’ quarter was forfeited by Diezani, following an order of the Federal High in 2017.
