First aid was provided to the injured, who were then transported to the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa, for further treatment. The submerged wreckage was marked to prevent future incidents.

The recovered weapons were documented and secured for handover to the Nigerian Police Force, Bayelsa State Command
