Minister of State Petroleum Resources (Oil), Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri, has denied directing the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, to dump the Port Harcourt Refinery and other state-owned refineries for the Dangote Refinery. But in his press statement, Lokpobiri denied advising NNPCL to focus on Dangote Refinery at the expense of the state-owned refineries. 'This does not represent my position as Minister overseeing the oil sector, nor does it reflect the stance of the Federal Government. “It is important to clarify that NNPCL is a company governed under the Companies and Allied Matters Act , with a functional board and management.
