Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, the Nigerian military reported neutralizing 8,034 terrorists, arresting 11,623 suspects, and rescuing 6,376 kidnapped hostages from January to December 2023. The report also includes the recovery of weapons, ammunition, and denial of over N57 billion to oil thieves.

The Defence Headquarters has reported that the Nigerian military neutralized a total of 8,034 terrorists, arrested 11,623 suspects, and rescued 6,376 kidnapped hostages from January to December. Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, disclosed this during a briefing in Abuja. Buba also highlighted that troops recovered 8,216 weapons, 211,459 rounds of ammunition, and denied oil thieves an estimated sum of over N57 billion in the past eleven months.

In the North East, Operation Hadin Kai neutralized 2,918 terrorists, apprehended 2,285 suspects, and rescued 1,496 hostages. Additionally, 15,950 Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists and their families surrendered during this period
