According to him, the attack occurred in his hometown, Idanre, while returning from a political event.
Adefisoye accused the Peoples Democratic Party members of being behind the attack. Specifically, he accused his main opponent in the forthcoming 2023 election, Festus Akingbaso, of being responsible for the attack. He also stated that he has petitioned the Brigade Commander of the 32 Artillery Brigade of the Nigeria Army in Akure.“They shot directly at my vehicle but I thank God I was able to escape and have reported the case to the police and the Nigeria Army for investigation,” Adefisoye said in a statement.In a statement issued by his campaign organisation, the PDP candidate described the allegation as unfounded.
