The Nigerian government on Wednesday arraigned three Chinese nationals and their company over alleged illegal mining activities.

They pleaded not guilty to three charges including conspiracy and illegal mining offences, when their offences were read to them on Wednesday. Thereafter, the judge remanded the defendants at the Kuje Correctional Centre, Abuja, pending the fulfilment of their bail conditions. is prosecuting the defendants on behalf of the federal government in a suit marked, FHC/ABJ/CR/177/2023.

The charges disclosed that the offences were committed between 13 August 202 and 18 February 2023, but did not disclose where it took place.
