Nigerian electricity generation company Mainstream Energy, operator of the Kainji, Jebba and Zungeru hydropower plants in Nigeria, has donated the sum of N100 million to support the victims of the recent flood disaster in Maiduguri, Borno State. The company’s spokesperson, Olugbenga Adebola, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
According to the statement, the Managing Director of the company, Lamu Audu, and the Executive Director for Corporate Services, Usman Muhammad Umar, presented the cheque to Governor Babagana Zulum, in the presence of other executives of the company. Engr Lamu expressed the deepest sympathies of the chairman and board of Mainstream on the tragic loss of lives, property and the displacement of people.
reports that the devastating flood had killed at least 30 people and displaced many as Nigeria grapples for solutions.
