The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday extended the deadline for the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), till February 5. This is the second time INEC will extend the deadline for PVCs collection, after it had previously said it would end the PVC collection on 29th January, 2023. In a statement on Saturday, Festus Okoye, national commissioner and chairman, information and voter education committee, said the decision was taken after a meeting on Saturday.

In a statement on Saturday, Festus Okoye, national commissioner and chairman, information and voter education committee, said the decision was taken after a meeting on Saturday. “It will be recalled that at the meeting with RECs on Friday, 28th January 2023, the Chairman of the Commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu indicated that the Commission would not hesitate to consider additional measures to ensure that all citizens had ample opportunity to collect their PVCs ahead of the General Elections.
