Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP in 2023, Peter Obi, on Monday stated that democracy in Nigeria is suffering and has been turned to transitional politics.

Obi, who spoke in Akure, Ondo State, for a rally to support the governorship candidate of the party during the upcoming Saturday election, emphasised that everyone must be involved in the rebuilding process of the country. He appealed to the electorate in the state not to trade their votes and conscience for any form of inducement.

'A Nigeria where a child of nobody is somebody, a Nigeria where there will be equal opportunity, a Nigeria where we put people out of poverty, a Nigeria where our children will be in school, where our hospitals will work. The governorship candidate of the party in the state, Sola Ebisen, described LP as the only party that can transform the state. 'Our programs and policies and even projects are everywhere, and you know it.
