In its post on X, the army named the slain commander of the team as AH Ali, a lieutenant colonel. The two majors are SD Shafa and DE Obi while the army captain is U Zakari. The army also named the other 12 slain soldiers. On Sunday morning, many houses in Okuama community were razed, allegedly by retaliating soldiers. It is not clear how many people died in that incident as many residents of the community had reportedly fled to a neighbouring community for fear of retaliation by soldiers.
