A youth leader and resident of Opu- Nembe in Nembe Local Government of Bayelsa State, Mr Moses Ayerite is allegedly on the run for demanding an illegal security levy from a family that wants to conduct a burial in the community. Earlier, some soldiers numbering over 30 stormed the home of the youths leader in military vans in Opu-Nembe community in order to effect his arrest but to no avail. According to investigations, Ayerite and his followers have formed a habit of levying those that want to conduct burial in the community in the guise of providing security.

Sources in the community said the demand had usually nosedived to threats and disruption of the burial ceremony if the family refused to play ball with them. Findings indicated that one of the sons of the deceased who is a Major in the Nigerian Army got wind of the demand of the youths president and his boys but insisted that the family was not going to pay the illegal levy.
