The Court of Appeal in Abuja has reinstated the former Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Mohammed Dauda. Justice Peter Ige on Thursday said the evidence that led to the dismissal of Dauda was frivolous and lacking in merit and awarded the sum of N1 million to the former NIA DG. Delivering judgement in an appeal filed by NIA, the Judge also resolved all the contentious issues against the agency in favour of Dauda who is a respondent in the suit.

Justice Peter Ige on Thursday said the evidence that led to the dismissal of Dauda was frivolous and lacking in merit and awarded the sum of N1 million to the former NIA DG. Justice Ige held,"Dauda should be allowed to retire in service in accordance with the stipulated laws.
