“Through his groundbreaking research, community engagement, and advocacy efforts, Iyiola has taken on the daunting challenges of antimicrobial resistance and zoonotic infectious diseases. By emphasising the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health, he has championed the One Health approach as an effective means to tackle these complex issues.
“His recent participation at the American Society for Microbiology conference in Houston, Texas, where he discussed the hurdles of microbiology education and microbial sciences in Nigeria, showcased his commitment to bridging these gaps,” a statement issued by Iyiola on Sunday read.The PUNCH reports that Iyiola spearheaded the first-ever outbreak exhibition in Lagos, Nigeria, effectively educating the public about infectious disease outbreaks.
