Nigeria has emerged as the top country in the final medal standing for athletics at the African Games 2023. This marks the 11th time out of the 13 editions of the African Games that Nigeria has finished first in the medal table. Nigeria secured a total of 22 medals, including 11 gold, six silver, and five bronze. Ethiopia, South Africa, Kenya, and Ghana also performed well in the competition.
Nigeria has finished top in the final medal standing in athletics at the African Games 2023. It is the 11th time out of the 13 editions of the African Games that Nigeria will finish first in the final medal table. At this year's competition, Nigeria got a total of 22 Medals which includes 11 gold, six silver and five bronze. Ethiopia finished second with seven gold, seven silver and four bronze medals and South Africa occupied third with seven gold, one silver and three bronze.
In fourth place was Kenya with six gold, six silver and eight bronze and hosts Ghana finished fifth with three gold, two silver and one bronze
