Nigeria’s Super Sand Eagles have a tough task making the next round of this year’s FIFA Beach Soccer Competition , as the team has been drawn in Group D alongside five-time world champions, Brazil; Oman and Portugal.
The draw, which held at the CONMEBOL Convention Centre in Asuncion, Paraguay, will see 16 countries competing for honours at the tournament. In the other groups, the hosts, Paraguay, will square up with Japan, Switzerland and USA in Group A, while Uruguay, Mexico, Italy and Tahiti are in Group B, as Belarus will meet United Arab Emirates, Senegal and Russia in Group C.
It will be recalled that the Sand Eagles qualified for the competition having finished as runners-up in the 2018 Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations held in Egypt.
