Nigeria's secret police unit, the Department of State Services has reacted to a security advisory issued by the U.S. Embassy in Abuja on Sunday. A statement issued by Peter Afunanya, the Public Relations Officer of the DSS in Abuja, said the secret police had received several enquiries relating to the advisory that there is an elevated risk of terror attacks in Nigeria, especially in Abuja. It, however, called for calm while it works with other security agencies to maintain peace and order in Abuja and beyond.

It, however, called for calm while it works with other security agencies to maintain peace and order in Abuja and beyond. "The Department of State Services has received several enquiries relating to the security advisory issued by the US Embassy in Abuja, today, 23/10/22. The public may recall that the Service had variously issued similar warnings in the past.

The U.S. Mission in Nigeria noted that as a result of that, the U.S. Embassy will offer reduced services in the country until further notice. A security advisory issued on Sunday by the U.S. Mission in Nigeria said,"There is an elevated risk of terror attacks in Nigeria, specifically in Abuja.
