Nigeria's House of Representatives has requested the unfreezing of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA) account to pay outstanding stipends to N-Power beneficiaries. The amount owed is N81 billion to 395,731 beneficiaries, as captured in the 2023 and 2024 Appropriation Bills.

Nigeria 's House of Representatives has called on the Federal Government to unfreeze the National Social Investment Programme Agency ( NSIPA ) account to pay out N81 billion in stipends owed to 395,731 N-Power beneficiaries. The request was made through a motion in the House's Order Paper released by spokesperson Akin Rotimi. This follows the suspension of NSIPA 's head, Halima Shehu, in January 2024, due to alleged financial misappropriation .

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) froze N30 billion of the N44 billion in the NSIPA account. The House of Representatives insists that the Federal Government should unfreeze the NSIPA account within 72 hours to ensure the release of funds to N-Power beneficiaries, as the funds are already captured in the 2023 and 2024 Appropriation Bills
