The Nigerian Presidency has responded to allegations of human rights abuse following the arrest of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President, Joe Ajaero, by the Department of State Services (DSS). Ajaero was detained at the airport in Abuja on Monday for snubbing an invitation for questioning related to an ongoing investigation. The Presidency insists that his detention was lawful and not a human rights violation.

The Nigeria n Presidency has broken its silence on the arrest of Nigeria Labour Congress President, Joe Ajaero , by the Department of State Services .It can be recalled that Ajaero was arrested on Monday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja just as he was about to board a flight to the United Kingdom for a Trade Union Congress event. However, he was released later in the day.

Hunter Biden, son of the President of the United States, has been the subject of a lawful investigation by the FBI. We, therefore, reject any notion and allusion to human rights violations in Nigeria. The accusations made by the Trade Union Congress in the United Kingdom are, thus, unfounded and based on a misunderstanding of the situation.
