Operatives of the Katsina State Police Command have repelled kidnap attempt, rescued 30 kidnapped victims and recovered 92 rustled sheep and goats alongside 2 cows in Faskari Local Government Area of the state. The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Katsina.
According to him, at about 1am on Wednesday, information was received at the Faskari Divisional Police Headquarters that some suspected armed bandits in their numbers, attacked Unguwar Sarkin Fulani, Dutsen Dadi via Tafoki village in Faskari LGA, kidnapped 30 residents and rustles 2 cows, 92 sheep and goats in the process.
The police image maker said upon receipt of the report, the DPO Faskari Divisional Police Headquarters, quickly mobilised a patrol team to the scene where the team tactically ambushed the suspected kidnappers. He added that the operatives engaged them in a fierce gun duel, forcing them to flee the scene with various degrees of injuries, and successfully rescued all the kidnapped victims unhurt and recovered all the rustled animals.
