Nigeria moves against suspicious migrants
The Comptroller General, Nigeria Immigration Service , Muhammad Babandede, has constituted an Immigration Enforcement and Compliance Team.Immigration spokesman, James Sunday, made the announcement in a statement on Wednesday.
The team is empowered to visit states to ensure compliance and where necessary, enforce diligent immigration processes and procedures. NIS said the development aims to populate its database and guarantee that Nigeria has records of every resident migrant for national security and policy administration.
There will also be a hub of data of all migrants deposited in the technology building when inaugurated. “The surest way of getting prepared for this is the stepping up of migrants’ data collection through the use of all technological tools MIDAS, e-migrant registration exercise.
