Ayodele Oluwafemi Hafsat Bakari, CEO of Nigeria's Financial Intelligence Unit, discusses recent upgrades in the country's efforts to combat money laundering and the progress towards full compliance with FATF recommendations.

The chief executive officer (CEO) of the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU), Ayodele Oluwafemi Hafsat Bakari, stated that Nigeria has seen improvements in its efforts to combat money laundering . Speaking at a roundtable discussion organized by NFIU and the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), Bakari highlighted that Nigeria has achieved upgrades in five key recommendations from the Financial Action Task Force ( FATF ).

She noted that Nigeria aims to fully comply with all FATF recommendations by 2025 and commended the inter-ministerial committee for its work in addressing money laundering and terrorism financing issues
