Nigeria, EU Sign €50m MoU to Support Humanitarian Mission in North-east

In a statement, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, said the cooperation agreement which was signed by Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Geoffrey Onyeama, and the EU Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development, Neven Mimica, would bring the total EU support to the country to €562million from 2014-2020.
The statement also said Buhari made the request for assistance from Japan against piracy in the Gulf of Guinea during a bilateral meeting between the Nigerian delegation and Japanese officials led by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, on the margins of seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development .
