“Kaduna state is doing well in terms of national and international competitions and we are to represent the country in Uganda or Zimbabwe for U17 cricket series in May 2020.” Nigeria

Onoja commended his victorious team while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday in Kaduna.

The coach said he was excited by his team’s performance throughout the competition, saying his players played to instructions, hence, the victory. “I am happy with the performances displayed by the players at the competition. We only lost a game throughout the competition. “I am happy that at the end of the competition, not only did we win the trophy we were awarded the most valuable player, Best batsman, best bowler and best fielder during the competition.Onoja, however, appealed to the State Government to help rehabilitate the cricket pitch for better outing in future competitions.“We are appealing to the state government to assist us in fixing our pitch so that we can be able to make good outing in upcoming competitions.

Onoja added that the feat had seen eight of his players jetted out of the country for international championship, within the last two weeks.“We therefore appeal to the State Government to assist us to fix our pitch to enhance our team’s performance in future competitions,’’ Onoja urged.
